Physical education students are excited about the possibility of competing against other classes in the first annual TMS Field Day.  The event will consist of softball, football, the long jump, a one-mile run, the one-hundred meter dash, the three-thirty yard run, a three-point basketball shootout, a volleyball throw, and more.  According to the coaches and students alike, the event is intense.

“A lot of kids enjoy the competition,” said Coach Blount.  "Knowing that [the students] are going to get ribbons makes it more of a competition."

The coaches seem to enjoy the events as much as the students.  “It's fun seeing someone from your class win an event,” said Coach Shelton.

In seventh period, a lot of P.E. student don't dress out, but knowing that they are not allow to participate in the events, they dress out just to play the events.

"It really helps because when students dress out their grade goes up.  I really do not enjoy when someone in my class is failing because all it takes to have a good grade is to dress out and participate.  It’s really easy,” said Coach Shelton.

And now, with field day competitions three times a week, it is an even easier decision to participate in P.E. class.
