MOUNT DORA, FL-- The
Tavares Middle School girls won Thursday night against Mt. Dora
Middle School with a score of 25-3, 25-4. The crowd cheered as
Tavares Lady Patriots' Torrey Smith served fifteen consecutive
points in the first game. Tavares' Jennifer Martins scored 14
points throughout the second game.
“I
felt very confident that I made good serves,” said Martins.
The
TMS boys varsity played an intense game against Mt. Dora but fell in
straight sets, 18-25, 11-25. Although the boys only have one
win on the season, they are inspired by the success of the girls
team and hope to improve to their level.
“[If we] practice more and we might win [another] a game,” said
Brandon Jacobs. |
